Urbex in Porto Torres
Porto Torres is a little town located on the northern coast of Sardinia. As the name suggests, it was always a strategic spot, due to its harbour. It has an ancient history: first inhabited by the local nuragic people, later on, under the Roman domination, became an important Roman colony and, in the early Middle Ages, the capital of a Judicate, one of the four sardinian reigns. In more recent years, it hosted a leading hub of ENI's petrochemical plants. After the industrial period came to an abrupt end, the city has now to deal with the remnants of the exploitation of the land, and it is left with acres and acres of abandoned plants and factories.
